Unruly Discourse: A communal excavation

August 22 - December 6, 2025

Unruly Discourse: A communal excavation, a collaborative exhibition between the GW Collection and For Freedoms, aims to ignite a dialogue around the diverse, personal, and political understanding of civic participation and its role in our lives today through works found in the GW Collection. The selections were made both by members of the For Freedoms artist collective and selected staff and faculty members of the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design. Once their pieces were chosen, each participant shared their thoughts on civic participation, some through writing, some poetry, and even in music.
